Asylum Of The Daleks: What we know

Official Synopsis:
Matt Smith returns as the oldest time-traveller in the universe. The Doctor, Amy and Rory are kidnapped by their deadly foe the Daleks and forced to go on a seemingly impossible mission - to enter the Asylum, a planetary prison containing the most terrifying and insane of the aliens' kind. They need an escape route, and fast - but with a mad, mechanised army closing in, and the Ponds' relationship in meltdown, it is up to the Time Lord to save not only their lives but his friends' marriage. Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill co-star.

"DOCTOR, YOU ARE THE WEAKEST LINK, EXTERMINATE!"
Quote:
Dalek Prime Minister: Does it surprise you to know the Daleks have a concept of beauty?
The Doctor: I thought you’d run out of ways to make me sick, but hello again! You think hatred is beautiful?
Dalek Prime Minister: Perhaps that’s why we’ve never been able to kill you.

Doctor Who Ratings Battle

More terrifying than Dinosaurs... The X Factor!
In two weeks time Doctor Who will clash with viewing figures winner The X Factor when they overlap by ten minutes. 'Dinosaurs on a Spaceship' starts at 7:35pm and finishes at 8:20pm on Saturday 8th of September and 'The X Factor' starts at 8:10pm on ITV1. Any more than a ten minute clash would be a disaster as the "talent" show would win hands down. Sadly the casual viewer who's just stuck it on as there is nothing else to watch will probably flick over to ITV for their Factor fix meaning  a million or so viewers will be shed. Doctor Who currently averages around 7 million viewers with Christmas specials getting around 10 million. Series 6 attracted lots of attention for having low overnight viewing figures but what the media didn't report is that the final viewing figures always added another 2 million viewers when released changing 5 million to a healthy 7 million. The fact that the first two episodes are airing after 7pm and we've had a huge wait between series might mean that Doctor Who will perform even better than normal. Plus if you've seen those amazing trailers how can you resist tuning in?

Doctor Who Series Part 1 "Movie" Style Posters

BBC Doctor Who released these terrific "movie" style posters at midnight last night (though they did leak a little earlier) and they really show off the diverse bunch of episodes we are getting. 'Asylum Of The Daleks' looks like a horror movie, 'Dinosaurs On a Spaceship' looks like a proper Sci-Fi romp, 'A Town Called Mercy' looks like a Spaghetti Western, 'The Power Of Three' looks like a Sci-Fi thriller and 'The Angels Take Manhattan' like a drama. Also notice on The Power Of Three poster that the background is screencaps of mostly Amy and Rory. Maybe their love defeats the Cubes? That is cheesy but if the Cybermen can be defeated with love I wouldn't rule it out. Anyway grab some popcorn, close the curtains, get a kid to kick the back of your chair and enjoy a movie blockbuster in your own little living room cinema every Saturday night for the next five weeks.
